Recently release Disney 3D animation movie has taken a turn to be a movement for Africans in diaspora. Likely reasons maybe a resultant effect of the soundtrack album for the movie; ‘The Gift’ curated by Beyonce Knowles Carter.
Knowles before the album release said it was an ode to Africa. And true to her words,the album is not only 100% Afrocentric but features top musical artistes from the continent.
The Gift is sheer celebration of people of color and also widely appreciated by same, most especially a track of the album titled ;’Brown skin girl’ featuring Wizkid from Nigeria. It serenades women of color, encouraging them to embrace their skin and true identities
Well the embers seem to have been fanned into beautiful flames of inspiration as these brown skin girls embrace their identity donning Lion King inspired make up!
